Join us for our annual trip to Whitewater State Park, where we'll spend the weekend fishing and enjoying one another's company. Activities will include our Annual Chili Cookoff (always a highlight), presentations on winter fishing, fly tying, games, and (of course) fishing!

The registration fee includes lodging and all meals. In exchange for keeping the registration fees low, attendees will sign up to help with meal prep/cleanup and pre-checkout cleaning on Sunday.

Here's what you can expect:

Friday
  • Check-in at the lodge anytime after 4:00pm
  • Group welcome event will start at 6:30pm followed by dinner
  • Annual Chili Cook-off: Our annual chili cook-off is always one of the highlights of the weekend. Meat and vegetarian submissions are welcome, with prizes for the winners.
Saturday

  • Winter fishing presentation
  • Fishing
  • Lunch provided (sandwich fixings to build your own lunch)

FAQs

Are there any other costs for the event?
  • Because Whitewater is a state park, you'll need to purchase a $7/day vehicle permit. If you have the state park annual pass, you won't need to pay this.
  • We'll also host an opt-in gift exchange, with a $20 spending target (no joke gifts, please)
Can children attend?
  • This event is adults-only. Attendees must be 18 or older.
Is there loaner equipment available?
  • Yes, we'll send out an email to registered attendees prior to the event. At that time you can let us know what equipment you need to borrow.
Can I arrive early and/or stay late?
  • Yes! Though we won't be ready for you at the lodge until 4pm, you're welcome to arrive early in the park to fish. Similarly, check-out on Sunday is at 10am, but you're welcome to stay in the park as long as you'd like.
Can I bring my fly tying equipment
  • Yes! There's plenty of space for group tying in the main lodge, and we'd love for you to bring your tying equipment
Can I bring snacks or other items to share?
  • An enthusiastic yes!
I have dietary restrictions. Who can I speak with?
  • After you register for the event, please email caitlin.collins@twincitiestu.org with details on your dietary restrictions, and we'll do our best to accommodate!
What else do I need to bring?
  • More details will be provided to participants prior to the event, but plan to bring your own bedding (twin-sized bunk beds), towels and toiletries (shower house is separate from the main lodge and cabins).
