Leaders, please plan to attend this important state meeting with volunteers from around the state.  We will be voting on the Fiscal Year 2026/2027 budget. Thomas Buehrens, WDFW Senior Research Scientist will be discussing the data gathered from our White Salmon Spawing Survey Project. We'll also get an update on what's happening on the Snake River. Andrew Kenefic, our National Leadership Committee representative, will lead a discussion on our state's input into TU's national agenda priorities. It's a packed agenda and you don't want to miss it!

Volunteer leaders from every chapter and the council are encouraged to attend and MUST be in "Good Standing" to vote as our bylaws require and we must have 50% of chapters voting to meet the required quorum.  Chapter leaders, if you cannot make this meeting please appoint two delegates to represent your chapter to vote for you.

Chapter Leaders, please plan to give a brief update on what you are doing or have done in 2025; council chairs and leaders will also give updates on our programs around the state such as BAT, White Salmon Spawning Survey, Community Engagement, Youth Academy, and much much more!

There are plenty of hotels in Bellingham. There is also RV and tent camping available in the area. We'll let you know details about a potential Friday evening, no-host gathering.

If you're wondering about fishing, here's what we've heard:
The fishing opportunities in late March are a bit limited as much is still closed. However, there are a few options.
Lakes: Almost all of the lakes are best fished via boat or float tube:
  • Squalicum (fly fishing only, eager small cuts and a quarter-mile walkin)
  • Fazon (early season bass or panfish)
  • Samish (open year round for trout).
  • Pass Lake (45 minutes outside Bellingham, but a reliable option)
Rivers: The only river access open in the region is the lowest Skagit River from the mouth to Memorial Bridge in Mount Vernon. Nice fishery for cutthroat and bull trout, but limited wading access.
Salt: Then there are of course beaches. A local favorite is Ala Spit on north Whidbey Island.
