John Mauser has been active in conservation and natural resources for almost 50 years. John was a middle school math teacher that encouraged his students to take an interest in the outdoors by taking them on canoe trips and stream cleanups. John founded the Martins Jacoby Watershed Association, is an active member of the Hokendaugua chapter of Trout Unlimited, served as a board member of the Northampton County Conservation District and served as the Chairman of Friends of the Minsi Lake, a committee under the Northampton County Junior Conservation School. He has been the project manager for over a dozen major projects to improve riparian buffers and remove dams from local cold water streams. He was the project manager to build the Lower Mount Bethel Township environmental and visitor center. He negotiated the Lower Mount Bethel Township purchase of the Meadow’s at Martins Creek and the Tekening Trails. John’s philosophy has always been to build partnerships between various stakeholders of our natural resources. He has worked tirelessly to educate, mentor and motivate others to take on the work of stewardship, protection and enhancement of our watersheds. When he is not writing grant applications, organizing a conference or showing kids the bugs that live in our streams and rivers you might find him actually fishing in the Delaware River.
Event is open to the public.
