Every River Needs A Champion and you can help!
The Pedlar River is a beautiful stream that flows through the George Washington and Jefferson National Forest. Trout Unlimited's Shenandoah Valley Chapter and Roanoke Valley Chapter are partnering to complete surveys of road-stream crossing on several tributaries to the Pedlar River identified as native trout waters. Our surveys will help Forest managers prioritize replacement and removal of barriers to trout movement in these waters.
Join other TU volunteers and watershed partners for a fun weekend of stream surveying and camping. The event is free and open to the public. Bring a friend and meet us at Oronoco Campground where we will coordinate survey crews and be camping overnight on Friday and Saturday. You're welcome to stay for the entire weekend or join us for a day.
