Details

Date: May 9th, 2026

Time: 10 am - 12 pm

Location: Meet outside the Issaquah Farmers Market, near Pickering Barn (1730 10th Ave NW, Issaquah, WA 98027)

Join the Three Rivers Chapter of Trout Unlimited as we partner with Green Issaquah on a monthly stewardship event working along Issaquah Creek near Pickering Barn. This month our event will be held during the Issaquah Farmers Market - volunteer for the whole work party or stop by to give restoration a try. Join us to dig out blackberry rootballs and remove invasive ivy from the riparian area. Issaquah Creek is an important salmon bearing stream and this is an ongoing restoration project to improve habitat and water quality.

Event Details: Meet at 10:00 am in the grassy area to the east of the Farmers Market. Participants will park in the Costco parking garage, where the Farmers Market parking is. Specific details and meeting location directions will be provided to participants before the event. Volunteers will be using shovels, and other tools to dig blackberry, remove ivy, and maintain the area around native plantings as we restore this site.

All community members are welcome, and no experience necessary!

Reserve your spot online. Registration will close at 7:00 pm the day before the event.

What to bring

  • Closed-toed shoes are required, such as hiking boots, tennis shoes, or rain boots. Digging will be muddy.

  • Don’t forget your water, snacks, and any additional layers to keep yourself comfortable while you’re out.

  • We will provide the know-how, gloves, and tools, for everyone to be successful.

Accessibility: This event is family friendly and open to all ages. Stewardship activities will take place on uneven ground including grass, dirt, and trails. There are restroom facilities on site. We understand everyone experiences the outdoors differently and we are open to working with anyone that needs additional support. Please contact us in advance so that we can do our best to accommodate your needs and/or find a way for you or your group to have fun participating in our event.
