Introduction

Last spring, the Mid-Missouri TU chapter invited TCTU members to join them on their annual spring driftless trip in Forestville, MN. This was a fun get together and Mid-MO has once again invited us to their 2026 event. Mid-MO has rented an AirBnB in Readstown, WI with additional camping space for four TCTU guests. Mid-MO TU has the AirBnB for 4 nights: May 13 - May 17. To allow more TCTU participation options, this mini camp will be split into two separate events: Wednesday May 13 - Friday May 15 and Friday May 15 - Sunday May 17. You can sign up for either performance, or for both if space is still open and you want to stay all four nights. Please make sure to select the correct event dates when ticketing.

Details

The Readstown AirBnB is on Reads Creek just upstream from the Kickapoo River. The AirBNB has a large camping space. Some of the Mid Mo members will sleep in the AirBNB and others will camp. All of the indoor spaces are already taken, so TCTU members will camp. The camping space and bathroom in the AirBnB will be available for TCTU use but the rest of the trip is DIY. TCTU attendees will be responsible for camping equipment, food, coolers, etc.
There are no formal activities planned but expect an evening happy hour to share fishing tales.
This is an adult only event.
Joint events like this are a good opportunity to learn about how other chapters operate. For example, it is not widely known that Minnesota's Outdoor Heritage Fund was modeled on a similar tax that Missouri adopted in 1976.
