PSWOTF - Women's Fly Tying - Fly: October Caddis

We're back!!!!! We'll be tying flies the 4th Sunday of each month, and this will be our kick-off event!!

 

New this year : we're asking for a $5 minimum donation to help pay for fly tying materials. Please use the donation button in the registration form to contribute, you can also pay cash at the event. (This is optional but appreciated).

 

We welcome all skill levels, first time tiers included! We have vices and tools available to borrow - just let us know so we make sure we have enough. We'll be providing material packets for everyone to use but encourage you to bring tools if you have your own. The format includes an introduction to the fly and step by step instructions on how to tie it. 

 

Here's the materials list for the October Caddis:

• Hook: 2XL dry fly hook, sizes 8-10-12 
• Thread: Burnt orange, orange, tan 6/0 or 70-140 denier. 
• Body: Orange or Burnt Orange dubbing
• Wing: Deer Hair
• Hackle: Ginger hackle feather for the body and thorax.
• Ribbing : copper wire
• Head Cement

• Scissors
• Bobbin
• Hackle Stacker
• Whip finisher
