PSWOTF - Women’s Fishing Outing - Tye Lake, Monroe
Details
Come fish with us at Tye Lake in Monroe! You won't need a watercraft to participate in this lake event, but there is a small craft launch if you'd like to bring a kayak, stand up paddle board, float tube, pontoon, etc. We will meet in the parking lot by the playground at 9AM.
There can be an option to have lunch at the Mexican restaurant next door (El Paraiso), which has a great patio!
Things to bring:
- Fishing License
- 5 or 6 wt rod, floating line (with optional sink tip) or intermediate line, leader, tippet
- Nippers, forceps
- Waders and boots not necessary, as you can cast from the bank. Boots could be helpful if you have them.
- Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses and/or rain jacket depending on weather
- Water, snacks
The lake has rainbow trout, sunfish, largemouth bass, and brown bullhead.
Flies to bring:
- terrestrial dries (ants, beetles, hoppers)
- streamers like wooly buggers, minnows
- dragonfly nymphs
- damselfly nymphs
Let us know via email if you need any gear for the event.
There could be options to try out/borrow a float tube - if you want to try this, email us! You will need to wear waders or be comfortable sitting partially in the water waist down.

A few days prior to the event we will send out an email with a reminder and any changes that may have needed to be made. Please watch out for an email from pugetsoundwomenonthefly@gmail.com.
Cancellation - unfortunately, there isn’t a way to cancel on Event Groove. If you aren’t going to be able to make it, please either hit the “contact event organizer” or send us an email at pugetsoundwomenonthefly@gmail.com to let us know.
We keep as much as possible free to our participants; we do ask for a $5.00 ticket fee to help support the events and providing loaner equipment for folx who need it. If that is a challenge, please let us know - we don't want to present barriers to joining our events.
