We’ll meet at Tanner Landing Park at 9:30. After the fishing ends, we’ll be headed to the North Bend Theatre for the IF4 Fly Fishing Film Festival! Please make sure to purchase your tickets at the link below.

Cancellation - unfortunately, there isn’t a way to cancel on Event Groove. If you aren’t going to be able to make it, please either hit the “contact event organizer” or send us an email at pugetsoundwomenonthefly@gmail.com to let us know. 

Gear:

  • Fishing License

  • Rod and Reel: 9 ft 5 wt is a good starter

  • Waders and boots 

  • Leader & Tippet

  • Flies (see below) 

  • Nippers and pliers/clamp

  • Appropriate layers for the weather

  • Water and snacks

  • Hat, sunglasses, sunscreen

  • Floatant

Optional Gear:

  • Net

  • Wading Staff or walking stick

  • Indicators (for fishing with Nymphs)

Below are common flies for Western Washington. The best fly for the situation depends on a lot of factors so your best bet is to have an array of flies in your set. Call or go into your local fly shop to find out what has recently been working for the waterway. Buying flies is always a great way to support your local fly shop!

Common Flies:

  • Dries: Mayflies, Stoneflies, Caddis, Stimulators, Humpy, Parachute Adams, Royal Wulff, Royal Coachman, Grasshopper, Ants

  • Nymphs: Copper John, Pat’s Stone, Pheasant Tail, Prince Nymph

  • Streamers: Leech, Wooly Bugger
