PSWOTF - Newer Angler Clinics and Fishing Outing - Lake Meridian (See Details tab)
This is an action-packed day.
For our newer anglers. Want to upskill? Be confident tying on flies, setting up your rig, and casting? We'll have mini-clinics on all those things. Starting at 9:00, we'll be doing a new topic every 45 minutes. Here's the schedule:
9:00 am - Rigging, 9:45 am - Knot tying, 10:30 am - Casting
Then we'll either fish from the bank or head over to the fishing docks and get fishing. We'll be fishing for trout, but bass and bluegill may also be present.
Seasoned anglers - Bring your personal watercraft (float tube, pontoon, kayak, etc.) and let's see what we can catch. We'll also have some personal watercraft available if you'd like to try one out. .
We’ll be fishing for trout and perhaps bass. A few days prior to the event we will send out an email with more details and any changes that may have needed to be made. Please watch out for an email from pugetsoundwomenonthefly@gmail.com.
Cancellation - unfortunately, there isn’t a way to cancel on Event Groove. If you aren’t going to be able to make it, please either hit the “contact event organizer” or send us an email at pugetsoundwomenonthefly@gmail.com to let us know.

Below are common flies for trout. The best fly for the situation depends on a lot of factors so your best bet is to have an array of flies in your set. Call or go into your local fly shop to find out what has recently been working for the waterway. Buying flies is always a great way to support your local fly shop!
Common Flies:
- Parachute adams, purple haze, caddis, and royal wulff for surface fishing.
- Wooly buggers, balanced leeches, zebra midges, scuds, and chironomids will all work for sub-surface fishing.
We keep as much as possible free to our participants, if you are able to please consider donating to help support our outings.
