PSWOTF - Lake Wilderness BBQ and Float Fishing
Join us for our second annual PSWOTF BBQ and lake fishing. Join us at Lake Wilderness in Maple Valley, from 11:00 am to 3:00 or later if you're having fun and/or catching fish!
BBQ - Let's be social. We'll provide the BBQ burgers (meat and vegetarian) and buns, water and soda. You bring something to share - apps, salads, desserts, whatever. This year we have a covered shelter - so rain or shine, we'll be dry. You might want to bring a chair, too. We'll aim to have the coals hot by noon and eat around 12:15 or 12:30.
Prizes - We'll have door prizes and we'll raffle off a guided trip donated by Pacific Rover. Must be present to win.
Fishing - The lake is always well stocked with rainbows in April, so fishing should be good. We'll have some different types of float boats for you to try - or bring your own watercraft. Kayaks, canoes, float tubes, pontoon boats, or paddle boards - they'll all work great on this intimate lake.
4- or 5-weight rod and reel are suggested. Typical still water flies are wooly buggers, balanced leeches, or bead headed nymphs for sub-surface; parachute Adams, purple haze, royal wolfs could yield takes on the surface. Don't forget your wet flies - soft hackles, emergers and more. 4 or 5x leaders and tippet should be adequate - this isn't an overly technical lake.
Other gear - waders, boots, sunglasses, sun screen (we're always optimistic), hat, net, nippers and forceps.

Cancellation - unfortunately, there isn’t a way to cancel on Event Groove. If you aren’t going to be able to make it, please either hit the “contact event organizer” or send us an email at pugetsoundwomenonthefly@gmail.com to let us know.
