Plant a Tree with CVTU on Lewis Creek
Come plant a tree with Champlain Valley Trout Unlimited on Saturday May 11th at 9:00 AM at the Hinsdale property on Lewis Creek in Ferrisburgh. This project is in partnership with the Lewis Creek Association and the Vermont River Conservancy. We are doing maintenance for the trees previously planted, we are seeing over an 80% survival rate, which is great! This has been been an ongoing project the last two years to help restore the riparian area along a section f Lewis Creek that steelhead use for spawning.
Parking for this event is on the east side of RT 7 in North Ferrisburgh and the driveway is between 6582 Rt 7 and Ninth State Cannabis/Auto Creek, look for an old barn set back from the road. We are going to try to put out a sign. If you have them please bring water, bug spray, work gloves, hand pruners, and a hammer or 2lb sledge hammer if you have one. The ticks are out so please dress appropriately.
