We need help from Utah Trout Unlimited volunteers and community members on the Mud Creek Willow Structure project.
Who: TU is leading construction on a large bank repair project in conjunction with EPA, the State of Utah, and the Carbon Water Conservancy District to reduce the amount of sediment input contributing phosphorus into Scofield Reservoir. The phosphorus input reduces water quality and promotes toxic algae blooms.

What: We need community volunteers to work alongside our contract crews to collect willows and other slash materials and build Beaver Dam Analog structures. We also need volunteers to assist with willow pole planting. Bring gloves, shovels, loppers, hand pruners, food, and water. Boots and waders may be helpful on some days too.
When: The project runs on weekdays (Mon-Fri) from October 3 to October 31. Volunteer for a few hours or a few days. We have listed the four weeks of the project. Please choose the ticket for the week you can help and include the day(s) and time when you can help in the free ticket registration at checkout. Week one is an example.
Where: Mud Creek above Scofield Reservoir at 39°43'12.06"N, 111° 9'44.88"W. See the map too.
Conservation events like this are fun and rewarding work! Nothing beats getting your feet wet and building great habitat for our wild and native trout. This is also a great way to check out the good things Utah Trout Unlimited is doing to make fishing better.
