Mississippi River Cleanup 10am to 1pm

Help clean up up the Mississippi River! A CX3 tradition, meeting participants partner with local volunteers (that's us!) as the event closes to leave the host city - a little cleaner. Join us on Sunday morning as we gather for cleanup with our partners from the Wakan Tipi Center to clear trash along the river walk trail - improving the health of the river and a valubale community recreational resource.

 

Following the cleanup, we’ll gather together for a shared meal and a chance to tour the newly-opened center which honors the Waḳan Ṭípi Cave as a Dakota sacred site and serves as an intergenerational gathering place that honors Waḳan Ṭípi and Wic̣aḣapi as sacred sites and place of deep significance to the Dakota, Ho-Chunk and Ioway nations.
