Joint Workday with the Nohr and SWTU Chapters
Time: 9am to 12 noon (sawyers that have completed a chainsaw safety course please arrive at 8:30, if needed we can provide a chainsaw and safety equipment).

- Coming from the Madison area take Hwy 78 south out of Mt Horeb to Daleyville, then take County Rd A west 4 miles to Brue Rd, turn right and go 1 mile to the bridge, where we will be working.
- Coming from the west take Hwy 39 east out of Hollandale 2 ½ miles to County Rd F, turn left (north) and go 1 ½ miles to Sandy Rock Rd, turn right (east) and go 1 mile to a T-intersection and turn right (south) on Brue Road, go 1/3 mile to the bridge.
What
: This will be a Joint workday with the Nohr and SWTU Chapters at the bridge on Brue Road on the Trent Nelson easement. We’ll be working with Justin Haglund and Lloyd Meng removing boxelders and willows upstream and downstream of the bridge. There is plenty of parking along Brue Road for volunteers.
Bring: Be sure to bring safety glasses. If you forget we have extra that you can use. We want everyone to wear them. Also work gloves, sturdy shoes, ear protection, and reusable water bottles that can be re-filled from our 5-gal water jug. Stay hydrated. Also bring waders or rubber boots as we may need to get in the stream.
Parking: There is plenty of parking on Brue Road.
Future SWTU Workdays:
Oct 10 – Upper Yahara River, Deforest – Returning to the same location as last spring (River’s Turn Park, 4601 Innovation Drive). We will be working with Greg Hall, Deputy Director of Public Services, and his staff removing invasive woodies.
Oct 31 - Pleasant Vallery Branch – Continuing our clearing at this site on Dane County Rd H, working with James Brodzeller removing honeysuckles and box elders.
Nov 14 – Mt Vernon, Deer Creek – Continuing our work at this site near Pop’s Knoll Park, State Hwy 92 working with James Brodzeller.
