Volunteer with Friends of the Mississippi River to remove invasive garlic mustard on the South Branch of the Vermillion River
 
When: Wednesday, May 13, 6-8 pm
Where: South Branch of the Vermillion River Aquatic Management Area near Hastings
 
The Vermillion River is the only trophy trout stream located in a metro area in the United States. Friends of the Mississippi River has been working since 2017 on restoring upland habitat along the Vermillion River. This upland restoration is important for trout populations because it increases insect diversity and insect populations, adding to the available food sources for trout. Join Friends of the Mississippi River to pull invasive plant species to improve habitat near the South Branch of the Vermillion Area at this evening volunteer event.

No experience is needed and all tools and training will be provided. However, registration is required at this limited-capacity event.
 
 
Registration will close 24 hours before the event so that we can get an accurate list of participants.
