Twin Cities TU is pleased to bring you our annual “Destination” event. Winter is here to stay in Minnesota, but Spring has just arrived in Patagonia, and who better to share it with us than Bob White?
Bob is an internationally recognized artist and author who was inducted into the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame as a Legendary Artist in 2009. He was Fly Rod & Reel magazine’s Guide of the Year in 1988. He and John Gierach contribute a collaborative column to TROUT, the membership publication for Trout Unlimited. Bob's work can be found at www.bobwhitestudio.com.
Bob first traveled to Patagonia in 1985, and subsequently guided eight full seasons there. Since 1994, Bob and his spouse Lisa have hosted annual trips to both Argentina and Chile… sometimes multiple trips a winter. Bob has fished, guided, and hosted groups of fly fishermen at a myriad of locations, from Estancia Leleque in the south, to Lago Alumine to the north, and west to the coast of Chile. Of all the places they’ve fished, Hosteria San Huberto, on the Malleo River, has become a favorite, and their second home in Argentina. His presentation will focus primarily on San Huberto, with a diversion to Chile.
The meeting will be in-person, with a Zoom option for those who prefer to attend remotely. We are excited to be able to meet again face-to-face, and share an adult beverage and a few stories during our social time.
To keep everybody safe, we require that all in-person participants be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. We will not be asking to see your vaccine certificate, but we will ask you to confirm you are vaccinated when filling in our attendance sheet. If you are not vaccinated, please feel free to attend via Zoom.
The Chapter meeting will start at 7 pm, with 10 minutes of "virtual lobby time" for online participants to log on. For in-person participants, please join us for social time and food/drink at the Forgotten Star (on your own dime) from 5 pm onward.
Whether you attend in-person or by Zoom, please do register for the event by obtaining a ticket (see above). You will receive a confirmation email with login details to the Zoom. But, as a backup, the Zoom link is here.
