CVTU Lewis Creek Work Day Saturday 5/27
Join us on Saturday May 27th at 8:30 AM at the Hinsdale property on Lewis Creek in Ferrisburgh. We are seeing over an 80% survival rate, which is great! All of the trees have been staked and we have about a hundred left to put tubes over the saplings to help protect them from rodents and act as a greenhouse. This is a great project to help connect two prime spawning habitats for Steelhead in Lewis Creek. A lot of progress was made on the May 7th and May 20th work day if we can get enough volunteers this weekend we should be able to finish the work on this project for the next few years.
Parking for this event is on the east side of RT 7 in North Ferrisburgh and the driveway is between 6582 Rt 7 and Ninth State Cannabis/Auto Creek, look for an old barn set back from the road. We are going to try to put out a sign. If you have them please bring water, bug spray, work gloves, hand pruners, and a hammer or 2lb sledge hammer if you have one. The ticks are out so please dress appropriately.
