Want to see a newly restored stream? There's some fun work to be done on the stretch of Eagle Creek that was restored this summer!! Join us as we assist our friend Mark Nemeth of the DNR!
WHAT IS BURDOCK?
- Commonly called "cockleburs"
- Burdock is an invasive biennial weed that grows 2 to 5 feet tall. It features large heart-shaped leaves, pink-to-purple thistle-like flowers, and sticky hooked burrs that cling to clothing and fur.

WHAT WILL WE DO
- Meet at the location, sign waivers & get a briefing
- Then walk the stretch & chop down burdock, 2-3" below the ground
- Enjoy a lunch afterwards
WHAT TO BRING
- Dress for the weather
- Bring a spade
- Water!
- A camp or lawn chair for the post event lunch
WHAT WILL BE PROVIDED
- Gloves & bug spray as needed
- Info on identifying burdock
- Lunch after the event!
