Jason is a fly fishing guide with Namebini based out of Duluth, Minnesota, primarily focusing on fly fishing for steelhead, smallmouth bass, and brook trout in the Northland. When not guiding, fishing, or tying flies, he builds and markets websites and writes outdoor articles. He is the current Vice President of the Gitche Gumee Chapter of Trout Unlimited and the Email Campaign Manager for Minnesota Trout Unlimited. You can find his work in many MNTU Newsletters, Lake Superior Steelhead Newsletters, the Minnesota DNR’s website, and his blog - js-outdoors.com.
The Chapter meeting will start at 7 pm, with 10 minutes of "virtual lobby time" to give online participants time to log on. In-person participants are invited to join us for social time and food/drink (on your own dime) from 5 pm onward.
Jason will be talking about fly fishing for migratory fish on the North and South Shores of Lake Superior: current species in the Lake and their history, the current health of the fishery, and (most importantly) the gear, techniques, tips, and tricks used to help you catch a migratory Lake Superior fish on the fly!
