Chapter Meeting: How's the Water? 7-8:30pm
Details
Join Glenn Skuta of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) for a primer on Water Quality in Minnesota, including, of course, its trout streams!
Glenn will cover the following topics:
- How is water quality monitored in Minnesota?
- The role that Legacy Amendment funding plays in Water Quality (spoiler alert: the Legacy Amendment is not just habitat projects!)
- Some unique monitoring that MPCA does with aquatic invertebrates and fish
- Key pollutants and their trends, with a focus on Nitrates and other contaminants that are of particular concern in trout streams.
- We have been hearing a lot about Nitrates—this is our chance to get educated!

Prior to Glenn’s talk, the Coalition for Responsible Data Center Development will give us a 15-minute update on the proposed Farmington Data Center, in the headwaters of the South Branch of the Vermillion.
Whether you are interested in advocating for cleaner water, or just want to be an informed citizen, this promises to be a great meeting.
