Spend a fun, FREE weekend in the Central Sands as we work together to restore the Mecan River and enjoy the incredible natural resources of the region.

Can't make the entire weekend? Join us on Saturday for the Mecan River workday - bring friends and family to pitch in!

Thanks to support from Bell's Brewery and local partners, we will be getting our hands dirty to restore a section of the Mecan River, a system that contains some of the finest trout streams in central Wisconsin. Even better, we're covering the cost of lodging for volunteers at the Mecan River Inn. In addition to the workday, we will offer recreation opportunities on Friday and Saturday to explore the surrounding areas, provide free meals to participants, and offer a chance to celebrate the Central Sands with the local community at the Richford Community Center. This is a great chance to make a difference for a local river, meet people who share your passion for conservation, and sneak in some great trout fishing in a beautiful place!

This community event is presented by Wisconsin TU CARES (Central Area Restoration Effort for Sustainability), a cohort of Trout Unlimited chapters, agencies, and partners working to protect and restore the Central Sands.
