Jeff Hastings has been the Project Manager for the Trout Unlimited -Driftless Area Restoration Effort for the past fifteen years. Prior to working for Trout Unlimited Jeff spent 25 years managing county land and water conservation departments. Jeff attended the College of Natural Resources at the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point where he majored in Wildlife Management and Biology. His current duties for Trout Unlimited are managing a small staff of conservationists and working with partners to accelerate cold-water improvement projects in the Driftless Area.
Jeff will give a brief overview of why the Driftless was chosen by Trout Unlimited for a major restoration project; a little history on the environmental degradation and restoration, accomplishments of TU DARE and where the program is heading in future. He’ll also highlight some of the work that has been done in Minnesota and Wisconsin with drone flight videos taken before and after restoration and explain some of the habitat features that were installed.
Our meeting will be in-person, with a Zoom option for those who prefer to attend remotely. The Zoom link to the event is here. We are excited to be able to meet again face-to-face, and share an adult beverage and a few stories during our social time. To keep everybody safe, we require that all in-person participants be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. We will not be asking to see your vaccine certificate, but we will ask you to confirm you are vaccinated when filling in our attendance sheet. If you are not vaccinated, please feel free to attend via Zoom.
The Chapter meeting will start at 7 pm, with 10 minutes of "virtual lobby time" for online participants to log on. For in-person participants, please join us for social time and food/drink at the Crooked Pint (on your own dime) from 5 pm onward.
