WYTU 2026 Year-End Impact
Details
Wyoming’s rivers and streams are the lifeblood of our state. From the Yellowstone to the North Platte, these coldwater fisheries connect us to the land, to each other, and to the future we want to protect.
Your gift to the Wyoming Council of Trout Unlimited directly fuels our statewide conservation network. Every dollar raised helps restore stream habitats, protect native fish, expand youth education, and defend the wild waters that make Wyoming unique.
Together, we are making a tangible impact:
-
Educating Future Stewards: Expanding our partnership with the Wyoming Game and Fish Department through Trout in the Classroom, reaching up to 70 schools across 19 counties—backed by major program commitments from WGFD, TU, and a $20,000 Meta grant for the North Platte drainage.
-
Protecting Native & Wild Fisheries: Funding crucial native cutthroat recovery projects, including the Clear Creek Weir on Yellowstone Lake to suppress invasive lake trout and ongoing range restoration on La Barge Creek.
-
Engaging Communities: Connecting thousands of youth through local fishing and fly-tying events, empowering our 13 active chapters, and expanding access through the WYTU Women's Initiative clinics.
-
Advocating for Public Waters: Organizing grassroots action to defend sensitive watersheds, public lands, and coldwater habitats against harmful policy rollbacks and environmental threats.
Your support is more than just a donation—it’s a direct investment in the health of Wyoming’s rivers and a lasting legacy for future generations of anglers, conservationists, and all who cherish the great outdoors.
