Woolly Buggers Feb Meeting: Rigging and Gearing up
Details
February Woolly Buggers Kids Fishing Club Meeting
Join us for the February meeting of the Woolly Buggers Kids Fishing Club. This month we will learn and review different ways to rig a fly rod for a variety of fishing situations. We will cover essential knots, when to use them, and why they matter, then break into small groups for hands-on practice at skill stations.
Topics (final list TBD) will likely include building fly lines; line-to-leader connection options and knots; different types of indicators and how to fish them; hopper-dropper rigs; and possible additions such as tippet rings, sinking lines, and leader construction. Practice flies, tippet, and materials will be provided. We will wrap up with group practice and friendly challenges (prizes TBD).
Even if you already know how to rig your rod, this meeting will be a great opportunity to learn how and why other anglers do things differently, refine your skills, and pick up new knots. When you’re on the river this summer and need to quickly re-rig to target a rising trout, you’ll be glad you practiced during the winter.
Tickets are free, but registration is required to ensure we have enough equipment.
