A fly fishing skills clinic designed to introduce women to getting starting in this sport. This clinic is for women that have very little or no experience with fly fishing, and want to learn what is involved to build fly fishing skills. Participants will
- Be introduced to fly fishing gear and equipment
- Learn how to rig a fly rod, the role of the line, leader, tippet, and basic knots for fly fishing
- Be introduced to what trout eat, insect lifecyles, and fly selection
- Learn about trout species, habitats, and habits, and
- Learn the steps to the basic fly cast

Volunteer Instructors:
- Anh Thai is a skilled angler and fly tyer that enjoys sharing skills and inspiring women to enter fly fishing.
- Barbara Luneau is a skilled angler and fly tyer that has over 10 years experience teaching fly fishing and tying skills.
- Sarah Burtis is a skilled angler and tyer that supports women through Casting for Recovery. Sarah also guides for Laughing Grizzly Fly Shop.
Equipment will be available if you do not have your own. If you have a fly rod bring it to the clinic and we’ll guide you through setting it up.
