Friday August 16 we are looking for volunteers who can give a couple hours to help cut and bag a patch of purple loosestrife, an invasive plant that is growing in our Warm Springs Creek project at Harris Ranch. Purple loosestrife is an invasive plant that grows in riparian areas and chokes out desired vegetation like willow and cottonwood. Our control effort will be to remove the plants and bag them to prevent future spread. This month is our chance to cut and control the flowering plants before loosestrife's prolific seed production continues it spread.

You will need work gloves (although we will have some extras just in case). If you have irrigation or hip boots we can put you in water which is fairly shallow. Street parking is generally available on the north side of Warm Springs Ave. such as on E. Barnside Way, E. Millbrook Way and E. Brightside St. The project site is a few hundred feet west of the Millbrook/Warm Springs intersection.

RSVP if you can help!
