Join TU Southwestern Vermont in completing RIVERS assessments along the Walloomsac River on Wednesday, September 25th. We'll meet at the Capstone Baptist Church parking lot across from NB Children's Center at 8:30am. Please come prepared with waders, floating vessel, life jacket, and mobile phone with RIVERS survey form downloaded (keep reading for more on this).
For those who don't know, RIVERS stands for River Inventory by Volunteers for Effective Restoration Strategies. We are leveraging this tool and your support to identify impairments along the Walloomsac River from Hunt Street to the state line. The results will be mapped and utilized to identify landowners so we can initiate conversations with them about habitat and/or riparian restoration opportunities.
If you would like to join us on 9/25 at 8:30, please RSVP and watch this recorded training! It is imperative that you come on the 25th with the app downloaded and survey form imported. Please reach out prior to the event if you are experiencing any issues downloading the app or survey form.
This project is funded by a Vermont Watershed Grant and includes temperature monitoring and water quality analysis.
