Volunteer Opportunity - South Boulder Creek Re-Vegetation / Planting

Boulder Flycasters is partnering with the City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks by sponsoring rehabilitation of an area disrupted by a project which removed a large diversion ditch structure.   The East Boulder Ditch was a channel-spanning structure that blocked fish and aquatic species passage, and disrupted natural stream functions.  The structure was identified of removal and updating through the on-going Boulder Flycasters watershed restoration projects.  The ditch owners, City of Boulder and Excel Energy, completed the project in March 2025.  We now need help to revegetate the disturbed area by planting native shrubs and other vegetation.

 

Exact meeting location will be communicated once City of Boulder assigns one. Likely East Boulder Community Center Parking lot.
