Volunteer! Fishing Day with Grand Mesa Middle School Students at P orter Ponds!
Help us kick off our spring/summer volunteer opportunities! As you know you are the most valuable link in this chain. Without volunteer support these activities would go away. So thank you in advance for any time you can share with us. Our first event will be April 12 at Porter Ponds on East Orchard Mesa. We will be fishing the stocked ponds with two groups of 14 kids. The students will be from Mount Garfield Middle School. The first group will be in the morning and the second group will come after lunch. The Agenda will be close to the following:
8:15 volunteers arrive at Porter Ponds to get rods rigged up. (maybe get to try a cast or two)
8:45 kids arrive
8:50 pair kids with volunteers and cover safety expectations
8:50-11:00 fishing time
11:00-12:00 volunteers lunch/fishing break (we will provide lunch)
12 noon second group arrives
12:05 pair kids with volunteers and cover safety expectations
12:10-2:15 fishing time
2:15 break down and pack-up gear
2:45 drawing for volunteers to win some swag
