Join Trout Unlimited to help improve habitat downstream from Wickiup Reservoir within the Riparian Habitat Conservation Area of this Wild and Scenic section of the Deschutes River. As part of a larger effort to improve and protect 144 acres of habitat, volunteers will help plant native shrubs and trees, add natural mulch, and spread-out branches to boost recovery.
Meet at 10 am at the junction of Burgess Road and Forest Road 44. We will gather at our road junction for a quick orientation, and then travel to our first site together. From there, volunteers will receive a project tour, dive into some stewardship activities, and take a lunch break along the way. We will wrap up by 2pm at our work site. If you are interested in joining us, please register for the day to support our planning, as we have limited space for this volunteer project. TU staff will follow up with directions and final details needed.
