Veterans Event

On Monday, October 19, 2026, the Ridge & Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited is hosting a fly-fishing event for military veterans from the Lyons VA Hospital. The outing will take place at the NJ DEP Fish & Wildlife Education Center (Pequest Hatchery). Veterans will have the opportunity to fish with fly rods and spin-casting gear. We expect 25-30 veterans and staff to participate. TU volunteers will arrive at 0900 to set up, and veterans will arrive between 0930 and 0945. RVTU will provide food, drink, and snacks. RVTU will also provide spin rods and tackle for the outing, but if you are attending, please bring 1-2 fly rods (or spin/bait casting rods) to ensure we have enough gear. TU will provide food, drink, and snacks. The veterans will fish in the morning, break for lunch, and then fish until 3 pm. We will clean up the area and depart by 4 pm.
