Join us at the Chicopee Public Library for the first in a series of presentations from UMass Ph.D candidates. Leading off the series is Ethan A. Rutledge, presenting on Bioaccumulation of Mercury in Trout and Salmon: Additive and Interactive Effects of Environmental Change
Ethan is a fisheries ecologist and recent Ph.D graduate from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where his dissertation examined how climate-driven changes in temperature, growth, and food-web processes influence mercury (Hg) bioaccumulation in Brook trout and Atlantic salmon across the Northeastern United States. His research integrates controlled laboratory experiments, regional stream surveys, and environmental chemistry to understand how cold-water fish respond to
interacting ecological stressors.
interacting ecological stressors.
The presentation will start around 7:15 p.m. following brief remarks and updates from the chapter. These meetings are free and open to all whether you're a member or not! - Feel free to bring friends, colleagues, and family members.
The events are a great opportunity to meet fellow anglers and conservationists, as well as learn a thing or two about local fishing opportunities and exciting projects we're working on!
