Join us Tuesday, July 13th for the latest installment of Trout Habitat Tuesday! This week, we will be installing conifer revetments to help combat erosion on the Norwalk River. Conifer revetments are a fun, hands on project that make a huge difference in restoring the banks of rivers and streams. The conifers slow down the current, trapping sediment and leaves, which overtime builds up a natural bank. In a few years, we return to these conifer revetment sites for native tree plantings. When its all over with, you'd have no idea you are standing on old Christmas trees!
We will meet at 2PM in the parking lot at Merwin Meadows park in Wilton. Plan on bringing gloves and plenty of water! We will take care of the rest!
