This January, we collected more than 300 used Christmas trees. We have scheduled two projects with our partner - RIDEM Fish and Wildlife - to use the trees to install stream bank revetments in the Wood-Pawcatuck Watershed. We are seeking volunteers to help us on Thursday, July 17 and Saturday, August 16. You are welcome to attend one or both of these events.
We'll meet at the Arcadia Deer Check Station at 9:30am, and proceed to the selected stream as a group. We typically plan four hours to complete the work and have lunch.
Gloves, cool water and lunch will be provided. Bring your waders or hip boots, bug spray and sunscreen.
