Tree Planting on Wisconsin's Marengo River
Join Trout Unlimited, the U.S. Forest Service, Superior Rivers Watershed Association, Wild Rivers TU, and other partners for a tree planting along the Marengo River in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest!
In 2021, TU and the USFS completed a project where large wood structures were installed along the banks of the Marengo to stabilize banks that were rapidly eroding due to unprecedented flood damage in 2016. This tree planting will help to further stabilize banks and restore vegetation that was impacted by the floods.
Please be prepared for a .25-.5 mile hike in to the planting site that is moderately difficult. We recommend bringing water, bug spray, and muck boots or hip boots if you've got them. This event is family-friendly and kids are welcome to join.
Bring your rods too because trout season will be open!
