TN Council Meeting
Please join us for the spring meeting of the Tennessee Council of Trout Unlimited on August 5, 2023
The meeting will start at 9:30am eastern time and will be held at the Appalachian Room at the Norris Dam State Park (125 Village Green Circle, Rocky Top, TN 37769). All Tennessee TU members are invited to attend.
A light breakfast and lunch will be provided.
Jeff Ogden, Program Manager at Tennessee Valley Authority, will give us a progress report off the work happening on the Clinch River weir (Hibbs Island) and the issues with the South Holston River weir.
Jeff Wright, Southern Appalachians Project Manager for Trout Unlimited, will update us on the status of the TU national projects that are occurring in our area.
The council will hear updates from the John Thurman Trout Adventure Camp, Trout in the Classroom, and chapter activities. Philip Tipton, Council Climate Change Coordinator, will give an update on the latest climate change plans. We will also hear a report from Mark Spangler, National Leadership Council Representative, on items from a national level.
Fishing may be available after the meeting. The meeting will be held near the Clinch River. The weir dam is currently under construction so it is difficult to know whether the conditions will be conducive to fishing. If you would like to fish, bring your gear and if the conditions are favorable, we will fish.
We hope to see you there,
Ryan Turgeon - TN Council Chair
