Tight line nymphing is widely recognized as the single most effective way to catch fish on a fly. CPCTU is offering an introductory tightline nymphing class on April 6th. The course will be split between instruction in the classroom and on the river. Students will tie a "euronymphing" style leader, discuss tactics for tightline nymphing, and then put them to use on the water. The classroom session will start at 9:00AM at the Salida Library, and then at a location on the Arkansas River to be determined. Please bring a rod and reel, as well as wading gear. CPCTU will supply flies and leader material. Plan on 2-3 hours of classroom instruction as well as 2-3 hours of fishing.
Class size is limited to eight students and registration is required.
