Each month, usually the last Monday of the month, leaders of our Chapter invite everyone to share their fly tying expertise and/or learn how to tie a featured fly. No experience is necessary to get started.
The Tie and Lie gathering is a social engagement as well as an educational experience. Meeting announcements are sent out electronically via our mailing list, same as the monthly newsletter.
This month's featured tier is Ron Becker, one of the early members of our Chapter. He will be demonstrating one of his favorites, a maribou streamer. Materials required are:
Hook - size 8 2x long hook
Bead - gold, size 3/16"
Wire - lead free .020
Thread - olive 6/0
Body - sculpin olive maribou
If you plan to join in and don't have a vise or tying equipment, contact Ernie Frey at ernest.frey@comcast.net.
