Chartered Chapters and Councils of Trout Unlimited are tax-exempt under Trout Unlimited's group exemption, but group exemptions are exceedingly rare. This can lead to donor confusion as they review documents provided to show proof of tax-exempt status. This presentation will focus on how TU's group exemption applies to chapters and councils, how to show proof of your tax-exempt status, and how to answer some of the most common questions donors ask organizations under a group exemption.
