"The Future of Trout in Owego Creek" A Trout Unlimited Strategic Plan Workshop
Join us for a workshop discussion about the future of a unique trout stream in Tioga County, Owego Creek. Allen Peterson, Region 7 VP of Trout Unlimited New York State Council will lead the discussion with the goal of developing a strategic plan that helps outline the future challenges and opportunities for the trout of Owego Creek.
Brook and brown trout may be encountered virtually anywhere in the Owego Creek system depending upon seasonal temperatures, streamflow and habitat. During the fall, winter and spring, brook trout may be encountered throughout the system but are limited to headwaters and coldwater refugia during the summer.
Barriers to aquatic passage, habitat improvement, community monitoring, ethical angling and much more. This is a completely free event put on by the NYS Council of Trout Unlimited. All individuals, at any age, who have an interest in the Owego Watershed are welcome to join us for a lively discussion. Coffee, Water and Snacks provided.
Please do join us and feel free to send questions/comments in advance directly to Allen via allenpeterson54@gmail.com.
We hope to see you there!
