As part of its weekend Rendezvous in Glenwood Springs, Colorado TU and the local Ferdinand Hayden Chapter are hosting a free community meeting at the Hotel Colorado, starting at 7 pm on Friday November 6th, looking at the future of responsible angling. With widespread closures of rivers across Colorado this year due to low flows and high water temperatures, many anglers had to change their usual angling activity - when, where, for what species. In a future with continued climate change, we may see more of these challenges for angling - how do we as anglers continue to enjoy the sport we love while being responsible stewards of a resource that will face increasing stress? And how will this effect key partners and constituents like outfitters, angling industry members, and Colorado Parks and Wildlife?
This panel will include locals Hutch Hutchinson (Roaring Fork Guide Alliance) and Lani Kitching (Colorado Wildlife Council), CPW's angling outreach manager Dan Brauch, Mayfly Outdoors CEO Jeff Wagner, and Colorado TU past president Barbara Luneau. The panel will discuss issues around the future of responsible angling, and we will open to floor for comment and questions from the audience as well. Join us for a free and compelling evening of conversation about the future of fishing in Colorado!
