Nothing helps a river recover more than a good canopy of native trees and shrubs along its banks.
Known as a riparian buffer, a healthy vegetative strip along our local streams helps stabilize the stream and prevent erosion, filters polluted storm water runoff, shades and canopies the water to keep it cool and provides habitat and cover for trout and other aquatic life.
Join the CHAPTER NAME as we plant native trees and shrubs along the RIVER NAME at VENUE LOCATION NAME in TOWN NAME, STATE on DAY, MONTH DATE from START TIME to END TIME.
We'll provide the shovels and gloves - but feel free to bring your own - and will have all the native plants ready to go at the site. Our volunteers will show you how and where to plant for best results. You'll have a fun time helping our local river recover while meeting dozens of dedicated volunteers like you who share a passion for conservation and cold, clean rivers and streams!
Water and snacks will be provided for all volunteers.
This event is perfect for families, great to bring friends and colleagues and open to all, whether you are a TU member or not. Bring your kids and teach them the value of planting a tree - then stop by every year with them to watch "your" tree grow!
