Taylor Stack - Come to our meeting to hear about Taylor Stack's research at Colorado State University, Warner College of Natural Resources. In September 2023, Taylor Stack, CSU Graduate Student at Warner College of Natural Resources, was awarded a Scholarship by Cutthroat Chapter of Trout Unlimited. CCTU Steve Bailey Scholarship is awarded to a graduate student in fishery biology, studying trout biology, biodiversity, and water quality research, with a focus on positively impacting Colorado cold-water fisheries.
Taylor is a master’s student in CSU’s department of Fish, Wildlife and Conservation Biology, studying spatial patterns of genetic diversity in trout. His work applies techniques from landscape genetics to riverine systems in order to enhance strategies for reintroduction of native cutthroat trout to Colorado’s headwater streams. Taylor graduated from Western Colorado University in 2021 with bachelor’s degrees in Wildlife & Conservation Biology and Biochemistry. His interests in genetics and freshwater conservation brought him to the CSU in the fall of 2022.
Steve Bailey (whom the scholarship is named for) served as CCTU President (twice) and ran chapter fundraising auctions for many years. He was a geophysicist and avid fly-fisherman and passed away in November 2014.
Michael Stickley - CCTU Member and Graduate of CTU Fly Fishing & Conservation Camp and TU Teen Summit
Michael will speak on his experiences at conservation camp and the Teen Summit. Michael also competed at the TEAM USA US Youth National Fly Fishing Championships in 2021 and 2022.
