Details

Join us for an afternoon of short films exploring dam removal, river restoration, and the return of wild Atlantic salmon.

This screening is part of the Scale of Change Film Tour, an international conservation-driven film tour dedicated to protecting wild fish and the rivers they depend on. Plattsburgh is the only U.S. stop on the tour.

The program will feature three short films from Hooké, showcasing rivers from around the world and highlighting how reconnecting habitat can lead to healthier fish populations and stronger river ecosystems. The afternoon will also include remarks from Bill Bullock, Vice President, Atlantic Salmon Federation.

While the films feature stories from other regions, a brief local discussion will connect their themes to the Saranac River and ongoing conversations in our community about river connectivity, including fish passage and Atlantic salmon migration.

This event is free, open to the public, and designed for anyone interested in rivers, the environment, or compelling storytelling. No fishing or conservation background is needed.

As part of the screening, the Lake Champlain Trout Unlimited chapter is donating $1,000 to the Atlantic Salmon Federation and will invite attendees to help match that contribution in support of river restoration efforts.
