Start your New Year out at our Seth Green Trout Unlimited meeting held at the Orvis store Pittsford Plaza, in Rochester New York on Wednesday January 17, 7 PM.
Guest Speaker Holly Watson, Livingston County Historian, will take us back to a time when our Oatka and Spring Creeks factored into the history of fly fishing in America when she dives into the life of entomologist and fly tying pioneer Sara Jane McBride from the little town of Mumford. McBride’s fly patterns and recipes were eventually included in the original Orvis fly catalogs of the late 1800’s.
The meeting will include updates on projects and events scheduled for 2024, including the Film Fest and the Trout Fest.
Fly Tying Demo – To celebrate the history of women fly tiers, Seth Green board members Jill Werner and Lindsay Agness will tie a fly starting around 6:15pm. Come early to join the fun.
All guest are welcome, meetings are free to attend.
