San Juan Quality Waters Sampling, Testing, Clean Up and Fishing!
Saturday, March 1, 9:00 - 3:00
San Juan Quality Waters - Various Locations
All 5RTU Members and 5RTU Women are invited to join us for a full, fun day on the San Juan Quality Waters (QW).
We will start by Sampling and Testing the river water for salinity, dissolved oxygen, E.coli, certain heavy metals, pH, conductivity and temperature at three different locations in the QW. We will simultaneously collect trash around our testing locations in support of the San Juan Trash Shuffle, sponsored by Los Piños Fly Shop, Moccasin Fly Club and About Trout. 5RTU will provide sandwich lunches (for the first 12 to sign up on My TU Events by February 26) and in the afternoon we can fish! At 3:00pm, there will be raffles with prizes given out by the sponsors of the trash shuffle for those who picked up trash. It is always a fun and rewarding event!
Be sure to bring layers! Waders are good for those who would like to assist with the water sampling and testing. If you plan to fish, please provide all of your own equipment. Bring water, snacks and, if needed, your lunch.
