RIVERS App Assessment

Join us on Sunday, May 3rd for an in-person RIVERS app training and assessment project on the Mianus River! We'll get started at 10 am at the Bedford Village Memorial Park in Bedford, NY. 

 

Trout Unlimited's RIVERS App is a really cool community science tool to document various habitat disturbances like excessive erosion, small dams and riparian issues on our local rivers and streams. Volunteer stream reach assessments help us collect really important data to develop restoration strategies and prioritize future projects.

 

We'll walk a section of the Mianus River together as a group to train everyone up on how to use the RIVERS app and how to document different types of habitat disturbances.

 

We're looking for volunteers to help conduct RIVERS app assessments on several streams we identified wild trout populations during our 'Big Apple Brook Trout' eDNA project!
