Riverbank Restoration on the Fenton continues …

On Saturday, October 8, members of TU Trout Unlimited will meet at the Gurleyville Grist mill to continue the bank restoration project on the Fenton at 10:00 am.  With the help of some volunteer UConn students, we plan to excavate (by hand) rocks and cobble from the stream bed and fill in behind the large tree we anchored to the bank on 9/16.  This will not only help stabilize the tree, but will also direct and deepen the main channel.

All members are welcome to show up and help or just watch.  We are loaning waders and hip boots to the students for the day and may be short a few pair.  If you have a backup set that you don’t mind lending out that you can bring, please contact Gary Lussier at gelconn@yahoo.com or (860) 861-9344.

If you are coming, please sign up by “buying” a ticket so we have an approximate headcount.
