The Wood-Pawcatuck Wild and Scenic Rivers Stewardship Council is hosting a "River Stewardship Celebration" at Grey Sail Brewing on Sunday, September 22, noon - 3:00pm. As a recipient of a Wild & Scenic Community Grant in 2022, Rhode Island TU is pleased to accept an invitation to participate in this event along with other like-minded organizations and Grant recipients.
The Grant funded RITU's purchase of a grip hoist that has been a vital tool for us in the successful completion of two stream restoration proiects with our RIDEM partners - a dam removal from the Flat River and the removal of an obstruction from a tributary that flows into Breakheart Pond. RIDEM staff has identified two additional stream restoration projects that will utilize the grip hoist. These projects will be scheduled in the Fall 2024 or Fall 2025.
